Den Day

We have spoken about our homes, used google maps to find some houses. We have also shared our thoughts on how it might feel to be homeless. This week we have written and drawn pictures to help us decide which resources to use to make our dens.

JJ decided to be ‘class photographer ‘ … take a look at some of his photos.

Chinese New Year.

We have read the Chinese New Year story, and then we had the chance to join in with some Chinese New Year celebrations.

We learnt some martial arts moves, jumped over some large flags and watched a lion dance. We are looking forward to using some colourful gymnastic ribbons and making up some dances of our own during choosing time in our outdoor learning area.

He’s behind you!

We had a fantastic time at the theatre on Friday. The children were very excited on the journey to Shrewsbury, and spent time talking about their own personal experiences of travelling to Shrewsbury and Wales, we looked at the Wrekin other local landmarks. The children were extremely well behaved at the theatre, Mrs Roden and Miss Cross were very proud of all the children who managed to attend.

Home Learning.

This week’s home learning is a writing based activity.

Your child will be asked to label the picture or to write a sentence or two about the story.

Please encourage your children to say each word out loud, and to listen for the sounds they can hear within that word. They may not write the words correctly or use the right sounds, but that is fine as it helps Mrs Roden and Miss Cross to see where they are along their own phonic journey.
