Fizz, slime, dancing raisins and floating oranges in Class 2.

We have had a very exciting week in school. The children have enjoyed exploring some slime, we made it using cornflour, water and food colouring. The fizzing lava lamps were made with oil, food colouring and water. By dropping an effervescent tablet into the mixture, bubbles were created. Find out what happens to an orange when you place it in water, then peel it and try again, or make a flower out of paper, fold the petals over, and watch what happens when they float on water.

Ask your child to tell you about their favourite experiment.

Watching the raisins dance led to a discussion on what is inside a bubble.
